- Unanimous vote in the affirmative
- Item 10 - Personnel Allocations
- Asking for up to 16-1/2 positions
- In addition to 12 positions the board approved last year, but froze and remain frozen
- These positions will be released
- Moore: Strategy, "The Lovejoy Way", post positions before the holiday. This helps in recruiting, months ahead of other schools. Our demographic projects help validate these projections. Salary structure to come out in February. Everyone else does this in June/July. Potential employees look at LISD new salary compared to their current employers current salary. There are not large swings in salary between school districts. Most teachers have to commute. Not likely to do that AND take a $1000 cut. Posting jobs early helps defray this problem.
- Goal: No new positions. The number '16' is based on demographic projections.
- Hickman: This is the strategy we have used for the past 5 years and it has worked very well.
- Vote: unanimous in the affirmative
- Board Training.
- All except Chad have exceeded quota, Chad on board since Oct, well on his way.
